WELCOMING THE WORLD TO DOHA

Communities make up the best of our country; our diversity connects us to the world and our differences unite us in celebration of the largest ever sporting event to be held in the Middle East.

More than 2000 athletes from 213 countries head to Doha in September 2019. Fans from Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East are all invited to cheer on their favourite athletes and wave the flags of their home countries.

We aim to engage with over 50 different communities living in Qatar, welcoming them to the extended athletics family and sharing the love for sport. We are involving the people of Qatar to help raise awareness of athletics’ pinnacle event by having the sport reach new audiences and generate excitement as we get closer to welcoming the world to Doha.

Through communities in Qatar, we are able to know a little bit more on the athletes’ traditions, cultures and backgrounds, helping us organize a multinational event to the highest level possible.

We are stronger together – in here you will find all activities held by communities in Qatar, showing excitement to be representing their country at the World Championships while they make their athletes feel at home.
