Welcome to the media section for the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

The media operations team is working tirelessly to ensure you have the best possible environment and facilities within which to work during the event.

This section is dedicated to providing you with all of the information you require, whether you are planning on joining us in September or covering the event from afar.

Below you can find some information about the upcoming milestones and key dates.



Press Accreditation process is now open. You will be able to access the IAAF online Accreditation Registration System from this page.

The accreditation process will be handled online and an access code is required to access the registration website. The deadline for completing your Accreditation registration is 24 May 2019. 

Unlike other World Athletics Series events, Press Access Codes for the World Athletics Championships are unique and can be used only once, for a single registration. These can be obtained – once the accreditation process opens – as follows:

Local Press and Photographers: Accreditation Access Codes will be distributed through the Local Organising Committee Doha 2019 (LOC).

International Press and Photographers: Accreditation Access Codes will be distributed through the IAAF Member Federations. Applications should be made to the national federation of the country where the headquarters of the media organisation is located.

International Agencies:  Accreditation Access Codes will be provided directly by the IAAF.

Rights Holders and Non Rights Holders: Rights Holders will be accredited in line with their contracted terms. Requests for accreditation from Non Rights Holders should be emailed to



The deadline for booking Media Accommodation is 15 July 2019, Accommodation information will be posted here, once the accreditation portal opens, along with a Media Accommodation Guide outlining the details of booking procedures, cancellation policies as well as detailed information about each hotel.

For photographers who are bringing in equipment as hand luggage, it is important that you have filled out the import/ export declaration prior to your departure and emailed it to the LOC at who will send the list to customs prior to your arrival. Please also print a copy, sign it and have it with you to present should you be requested to.

Photographers may use remote shutter devices such as Pocket Wizards (during the event) as long as they meet Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) regulations and operate within Qatar permitted frequency ranges of:

a) 433.05 – 434.79 MHz, Max e.r.p 10mW

b) 340.00 – 354.00 MHz, Max e.r.p 10 mW

c) 315.50 – 317.00 MHz, Max e.r.p 10 m W
