Drawing on success

Schools Programme

Artwork submission open for all school pupils aged between 5-9 years old to celebrate the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

What you need to know

With athletes from over 200 different countries heading to Qatar, we want young children to learn about new cultures and show this through drawing pictures- whether it’s of an athlete getting ready to come to Doha, a picture of an athlete in a different country or a superhero getting ready to compete – there is no limit to the creativity!

The first 2,000 drawings will be gifted to athletes competing at the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

The remaining drawings will play a part in the Championships with a dedicated area in the fan zone displaying all entries.

What are the guidelines?

All drawings are to be on A4 paper- either portrait or landscape, using bright colours to help make great photo opportunities during the Championships. Drawings cannot be assisted by adults or others outside of the 5-9 years old age bracket.

On the back of each drawing, we ask for the full name of the pupil, the name of school and age. Any winning entries will be contacted via the school.

Competition submission and deadline

We kindly ask all schools to collect all images before they’re sent to the Local Organising Committee, which will be collected by June 25th, 2019.

Good luck to everybody taking part!
